I Accept You...

...For you. As you are and at your worst. You are accepted.

You are gift. A precious gem that was handcrafted by the The King of Heaven Himself.

This past week, God gave me the opportunity to speak into someones life. Though everything went great in the end, there was some hesitation from this person at first. They thought if they shared certain things with me, that I would reject and not accept them because I was (quote) a "Christian".

My answer went a little something like this: "Accept you?? Of course I accept you! People are people, plain and simple. It would be wrong for me to turn away from another child of the Lord. You are already a spiritual sibling of mine (whether you realize it or not). Like my very own brothers, I love and accept you FOR YOU, regardless of your actions or what you have done in the past. Being a "Christian" shouldn't have anything to do with me accepting you. What kind of a son of God would I be if I didn't?"

Isn't that something? God's people being afraid to open up to other Christians because of rejection? That conversation was a real reality check. We as God's children have no room or place to judge or turn a blind eye to anyone. Like our Father, we should be able to accept all of His people, regardless of their past mistakes or flaws. No one person on earth is any better than another. Meaning our arms should be open to all people of all backgrounds.

Let's take a look at Romans 15:7 (NIV)
"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."

Christ died for the sins of ALL His people. When our Savior gave His life for us, He wasn't dying for a select few. He died for everyone. God gave the entire existence of man a chance to enter into Paradise. That my friends, is GRACE. Like our Father, we too should be able to accept everyone. Regardless of how 'messed up' their life may be. We as Christians, wanting to be more like Jesus, should without a doubt want to do what our Savior has done...accept everyone. Romans 15:7 even reads that this act of love brings praises to our King. Loving and accepting one another pleases God. Watching His children live and act as one, brings so much joy to His heart. We as His creations should reach for that.

Love one another. Don't reject someone just because they are different. Because at the end of the day, they are just like you. A sinner.. forgiven.. and covered by grace.

You are loved unconditionally.. spread it!

Do great! Be great! Because you are great!
