Praising God

Praise the Lord!

1 Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heaven!
Praise him for his mighty works;
    praise his unequaled greatness!
Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
    praise him with the lyre and harp!
Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
    praise him with strings and flutes!
Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
    praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Psalm 150

We sometimes forget what it means to truly Praise God. We become content with the occasional and simple “Thank you” we say to Him. While He does desire our hearts to be filled with thanksgiving, He also desires for every inch of us to Praise Him and give Him the Glory He deserves.
Although Praising God and Thanking God fall very close to each other, they are different. When we thank God, we are showing our gratitude for what he has given us: food, shelter, a job, friends and family, etc. However, when we Praise God, we are expressing a much deeper and more meaningful appreciation for who He is. Praising God means stepping outside of that simple thank you and showering God with words of adoration.
Thank Him for being the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End. Thank Him for being the Creator of the Universe. Thank Him for His magnificent love, for His Holiness, and His perfect kindness. He is the One True King. Nothing can ever stand against Him.
No matter our circumstances, God should be praised. Submerse yourself in the Joy of Glorifying God for all He is.
I encourage you to take time today to truly Praise God. Magnify and exalt His name. Let your heart poor out praises to Him, for He is worthy of Praise beyond measure.
