Prayer Importance
Prayer will lead us to conviction.
Prayer will lead us to confirmation.
Prayer will lead us to make righteous decisions.
Prayer will lead us to stand firm in Jesus.
Prayer will lead us to a victorious life.
and let's face it, the list goes on...
To pray, is to communicate with God. Prayer is one of the most important aspects of our relationship with Christ. Through prayer we can acquire many key elements of life: love, power and success being a few. When developing a routine of prayer, it becomes clear how strong these elements become. Prayer produces faith and strengthens the parts of our lives we may be weak in. Prayer leads us to the great potential and destiny God has for each and every one of us.
The importance of prayer is stressed greatly throughout God's word. So much so, The Savior of Mankind, Jesus Christ, who was God Himself, felt the urge to constantly connect himself with His Heavenly Father on a regular basis.
"Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples, "Sit here while I go over there and pray.."" Matthew 26:36 (NASB)
This is only one small example of when Jesus stopped what he was doing to pray. Jesus made sure He put aside time to give to His Father in prayer on a daily basis. Yes, daily. If Jesus himself understood that He couldn't make it without a daily connection with His Heavenly Father, what more do we need to realize the importance of prayer and connection with God on a consistent basis each day?
As a believer in Christ, we must take ownership of the importance of prayer. Prayer goes deeper than a simple daily "to do" exercise. It is a privilege and incredible opportunity given to us by God, enabling us to connect and have a conversation with Him on a regular basis. We should be able to have a personal conversation with God every day. Acknowledge this National Day of Prayer by developing a habit of consistency with Christ in prayer. He will be waiting to hear from you.
Happy Nation Day of Prayer!
